Anti Spam

Anti Spam Client Setup:

Please follow these guides to setup SPAM filtering in the following Email clients:


Outlook:

1. Open Outlook, go to the Tools pull-down menu, then select Rules and Alerts...
2. Click New Rule... and select Start from blank rule. Click Next >.
3. In the "Step 1: Select condition(s)" box, scroll down the list of conditions and check with specific words in the message header.
4. In the "Step 2: Edit the rule description" box, click specific words.
5. In the text box enter "X-Assp-Spam: YES" (without the quotation marks) and click Add. Click Ok ? Next.
6. In the "Step 1: Select action(s)" box, check move it to the specified folder.
7. In the "Step 2: Edit the rule description" box, click specified. From the list of folders, select Junk E-mail, then click Ok ? Next ? Next.

If you want this spam filtering to be applied to the messages already in your inbox, check Run this rule now on messages already in "Inbox". Otherwise, leave it unchecked.

8. Click Finish. You should now see a rule reading "X-Assp-Spam: YES" in the list of rules. Click Ok.

Microsoft Outlook is now set up to filter your email and send suspected spam to your Junk E-mail folder automatically.


Thunderbird:

1. Open Thunderbird, right click on your Inbox and select New Folder... Call it Spam and click the OK button.
2. From the menu along the top select Tools
3. Select Message Filters...
4. A popup box should appear, make sure the correct account is selected under Filters for:
5. Click New...
6. Under Filter name: type SPAM (This name can be any thing of your choice)
7. Under For incoming messages that: Tick Match any of the following
8. In the first drop down boxes select Subject
9. In the second box select contains
10. In the third box type ***SPAM***
11. Under Perform these actions: select Move Messages to (select the account/folder you want your Spam mail to go).
12. Click the OK button.

Your new Message filter is setup! If you wish you can apply the filter straight away on mail you have already received;

1.Open Thunderbird, select the Inbox you wish to run the Message filter on
2.Select the Tools menu from the top, click Run Filters on Folder

Job done your mail should now be filtered! All Spam you now receive will now be automatically moved to the Folder Spam!


Webmail:

1. Load up your web browser and login to you webmail (http://yourdomain.com/webmail)
2. Click Folders from the top menu, in the Create Folder input box type Spam.
3. Be sure the Let this folder contain subfolders box is not ticked.
4. Click Create
5. From the top menu select Options
6. From the options menu select Message Filters
7. Under What to Scan: make sure All messages is selected from the drop down
8. Click [New]
9. Under the drop down menu for Match: select Subject
10. Type ***SPAM*** in the input box for Contains:
11. In the Move to: select the Spam folder we created
12. Click the Submit button
