What is VoIP and how does VoIP work?
Voip stands for "Voice over Internet Protocol" is in basic terms calls made using the Internet. As voice data is fairly large a broadband connection is required to make and receive VoIP calls.
How does the call I make online ring the normal phone I call?
Netzen! when you make a call on your VoIP phone and dial a number this then connects to our servers and routes the call to the public phone network and makes the phone on the other end ring. see diagram below.

Free VoIP Calls
VoIP calls made to other Netzen customers or other VoIP to VoIP calls are free, however in order for them to be free you must use the other callers SIP address this will look much like a email address for netzen customers this will be extension_number@sip.netzensolutions.com
These calls are only made via the Interner so there is no cost of going through the public phone network. See diagram below

Will it save me Money?
VoIP will save you money, calls to to standard phones via the PSTN are greatly reduced and calls to the increasing number of users switching to VoIP are totally free! International calls and mobile calls are greatly reduced, see our tariff
